Youth Resource Centre

The Powell River Youth Resource Centre is a safe, positive, caring community centre committed to meeting the changing needs of youth and supporting them to realize their potential through quality social, recreational, creative, educational, and cultural activities, adult mentoring, and access to community services. The Youth Resource Centre is located at 7105 Nootka St. (Around back at Oceanview Education Centre).

Registration is a breeze – simply fill in the form at your first visit. If you need the form ahead of time, please let us know by emailing admin@youthandfamily.ca. We look forward to seeing you soon!

What’s on for Youth at the YRC?

YRC Zone – Tuesdays, 3:30-5:00pm, ages 11-13

Youth Drop-in – Wednesdays, 4:00-5:30pm, ages 14-16

YRC Club – Thursdays, 3:30-5:00pm, ages 8-10

Summer Days YRC Club (ages 9-12)

Join us at the Youth Resource Centre on Wednesdays through the month of July. Ages 9-12.

Blackbird Creates (ages 13-18) –
-Blackbird Creates meets Tuesdays from 4:15 – 5:45pm contact lsutherland@youthandfamily.ca for more information.

Pride Circle YRC (grades 8-12) –
-Pride Circle YRC meet on Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6:00. Open to LGBTQ2+ and allies. Contact sbacon@youthandfamily.ca for more information.

YRC Club Drop-In (ages 9-12) –
-YRC Club meet every Thursday from 3:30 – 5pm contact rwelp@youthandfamily.ca for more information.

Blackbird Creates (grades 1-4) –

TIME IN (ages 8-12) –
-TIME IN group for parents and their children. Drop-in program with childcare available for siblings.  Please register in advance if childcare is required. Contact sfitzgibbon@youthandfamily.ca for more information.

Youth In Care Network – Meet up regularly with other youth who are – or have been – supported by the Ministry of Children & Family Development. Call Collette for meeting times 604-485-3090 ext 6308
